The National Democratic Front-Eastern Visayas (NDF-EV) strongly denied accusations hurled by the 803rd Infantry Brigade that barangay councils in Bobon, Northern Samar channel funds of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to the New People’s Army.

NDF-EV said the revolutionary movement does not, in any way, use the reactionary government’s 4Ps as source of funds. “Nobody except the AFP believes in the oft-parroted lie that paints the revolutionary movement as ‘extortionists’. The People’s Democratic Government has its own fiscal policies to sustain the people’s welfare without having to use funds from 4Ps.”

NDF-EV said the conditional cash transfer comes from people’s hard-earned taxes which they rightfully deserve in full, however insufficient and unsustainable the Duterte regime’s anti-pandemic response, especially in the face of worsening economic and health crisis.

“The Duterte government should instead increase budget for basic social services than to waste billions for psywar and disinformation campaign such as this.

“We call on the people to be vigilant against the disinformation campaign by the AFP, expose their lies, oppose all attempts to fool and further oppress the people under the Duterte regime’s tyranny,” NDF-EV ended.
