No encounter  in Guihulngan City today, September 7. LPC-NPA (Central Negros Front) decries 62nd IB’s modus operandi of declaring fake encounters to cover up peasant killings.

According to the LPC, there were no NPA units in that area during the incident. According to initial reports, another Sauron-type killing occurred this morning rather than an encounter. Two farmers in the 62IB’s hit list were massacred at Sitio Manlibod, Brgy Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, around 6AM.

According to Ang Paghimakas’ HRV monitor, the 62IB has declared 3 fake encounters in Central Negros since July 2022 where 6 farmers (including a pregnant woman and a minor) were killed.
