In the midst of our sorrow for the passing of Kerima Tariman or Ka Kyla to the massess she lived with and served for in the Bicol region, PKM-Bikol accords the highest recognition to her significant contribution to strengthen the peasant movement in the region, particularly in the province of Camarines Sur.

It is election time once more. Bureaucrat capitalists who have been slumbering away are once again out of their holes to shove empty promises and declarations down the public’s throats. Leading them all is the Duterte faction – from the spread of thousands of troll farms on social media to the use of all civilian agencies just to sell the dictator. The region have seen Duterte’s stooges like NSA Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, DOTr Sec. Arthur Tugade, PNP Chief Eleazar, and now, NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Lorraine Badoy begin with their visits and muscle flexing. All with one intent: try to change the public’s opinion on Duterte’s war against the people, buy the loyalties of their political allies and peddle the victory of tyranny for the upcoming elections.

Sa gitna ng aming pagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ni Kerima Tariman o Ka Kyla para sa masang kanyang nakasama’t pinagsilbihan sa Kabikulan, iginagawad ng PKM-Bikol ang mataas na pagkilala sa kanyang mahalagang konstribusyon sa pagpapalakas ng kilusang magsasaka sa rehiyon, partikular sa prubinsya ng Camarines Sur.

Panahon na naman ng eleksyon. Naglabasan na sa kanilang mga lungga ang mga burukrata kapitalistang natutulog sa kangkungan para magpaulan ng mga pangako at mabubulaklak na salita. Nangunguna sa kanilang lahat ang pangkating Duterte – mula sa pagpapalipana ng libu-libong troll farms sa social media hanggang sa paggamit sa lahat ng mga ahensya ng sibilyang burukrasya para ilako ang diktador. Sa rehiyon, sunud-sunod na naman ang pagdalaw at pagpaparamdam ng mga alagad ni Duterte gaya nina NSA Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, DOTr Sec. Arthur Tugade, PNP Chief Eleazar at, ngayon naman, si NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Lorraine Badoy. Iisa ang kanilang layunin: tangkaing baguhin ang pampublikong upinyon sa kontramamamayang gera ni Duterte, bilhin ang katapatan ng kanilang mga kasapakat na pulitiko at ipagpilitan ang tiranikong paghahari para sa susunod na halalan.

Bicolano politicians did nothing to protect their kababayans against the complete damage brought by the RTF-ELCAC. Only a few words can describe their performance since being elected into office and since the inception of RTF-ELCAC: absolutely deplorable.

Walang ni anumang ginawa ang mga pulitikong Bikolano upang ipagtanggol ang kanilang mga kababayan mula sa lubos na kapinsalaang dala ng RTF-ELCAC. Iilang salita lamang ang makapaglalarawan sa kanilang panunungkulan mula nang mahalal sa pwesto at mabuo ang RTF-ELCAC: sukdulang nakapagngangalit.

With the commemoration of the National Heroes’ Day, the NDF-Bikol acclaims the Bicolano masses for their ever-strengthening determination to advance the people’s war in the face of the many challenges and hardships being flung at them by the worsening crisis and state terrorism under the US-Duterte regime.

Sa paggunita ng Araw ng mga Bayani, pinagpupugayan ng NDF-Bikol ang masang Bikolano sa matibay at lalong tumitibay nilang kapasyahang isulong ang digmang bayan sa harap ng mga hamon at pagsubok na ihinahambalos ng tumitinding krisis at terorismo ng estado sa ilalim ng rehimeng US-Duterte.

Tiyak na lalong itatakwil at mariing kukundenahin ng masang Bikolano ang tigas-mukhang tangka ni Duterte na makapanatili sa poder sa harap ng napakatinding krisis na kanyang pinalubha at pinalasap sa masa. Walang ibang dapat panagutin sa -8.4% pagbagsak ng ekonomya ng Bikol kundi si Duterte sa kanyang talamak na pangungutang, pangungurakot ng pondo sa ayuda at pandemya at pagkukumpleto sa mga neoliberal na patakarang lalong sumabotahe sa ekonomya.

The Bicolano masses will surely repudiate and condemn Duterte’s barefaced attempt to stay in power in the face of a deepening crisis that he himself worsened. No one else but Duterte should be held accountable for the -8.4 contraction of Bicol’s economy. He has buried the country deep in debt, plundered the funds for ayuda and the pandemic and completed the neoliberal policies which only further sabotaged the economy.
