Solidarity Message from Katipunan ng Gurong Makabayan-Jessica Sales Chapter on the 57th anniversary of the CPP

On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines, the Katipunan ng Gurong Makabayan – Jessica Sales Chapter extends its warmest and most comradely greetings to all Party members, cadres, revolutionary organizations, and mass formations under the leadership of the CPP. We salute the Party’s steadfast dedication to the national democratic revolution and its unwavering adherence to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as the guiding theory of the Filipino people’s struggle for liberation.

This year marks the third death anniversary of the CPP’s founding chairperson, Ka Jose Maria Sison, whose revolutionary leadership, theoretical contributions, and proletarian internationalism continue to inspire the Party, the Filipino masses, and progressive forces worldwide. Last June, Ka Luis Jalandoni, one of the most formidable voices in the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and several peace negotiations, had also passed away. We offer our highest tribute to Ka Joma, Ka Louie, and to the countless revolutionary heroes and martyrs who have laid down their lives for national sovereignty, social justice, and genuine democracy.

KGM-JS recognizes the intense struggles of the Filipino people and the deepening crisis they have confronted over the past year. The ruling system, led by the US-Marcos regime, is further mired in corruption, fascism, and neocolonial subservience. The economic and political turmoil continues to worsen, with the broad masses suffering low wages and salaries, high inflation, unemployment, the destruction of livelihoods, and the systematic dismantling and privatization of essential social services, including education, healthcare, housing, and public utilities. These conditions are aggravated by escalating US imperialist intervention, marked by expanded military basing, troop deployments, and provocative exercises that heighten regional tensions, particularly in the West Philippine Sea, and further undermine Philippine sovereignty.

Amid this crisis, the exposure of large-scale corruption—especially anomalous infrastructure and flood control projects durectly implicating the chief executive of the US-Marcos regime—has intensified the people’s outrage. The masses have responded with heightened resistance to bureacrat capitalism and fascist repression, expressed through strikes, protests, student walkouts, and broad anti-corruption campaigns. In this context, KGM-JS expresses its solidarity with the Filipino people’s legal democratic struggles, including calls for the ouster of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte and proposals to establish a transition council as a means to address the current political crisis and assert the people’s democratic rights.

As revolutionaries, KGM-JS upholds the CPP’s leadership of the national democratic revolution and recognizes protracted people’s war in the countryside as the principal strategy for achieving genuine national liberation and social emancipation. We affirm that only the revolutionary overthrow of the semicolonial and semifeudal system can eliminate the root causes of corruption, repression, and mass poverty. In line with this understanding, we commit to advancing revolutionary mass work and strengthening unity among the broad majority of the Filipino people. As stakeholders in the education sector, we strive to organize and mobilize teachers and forge closer ties with workers, peasants, and other progressive forces, linking their immediate concerns to the strategic goals of the national democratic movement. We recognize that only by arousing, organizing, and mobilizing the masses can the people’s democratic revolution advance to higher levels and secure victory.

We also express our strong support for the CPP’s ongoing rectification movement. The Party’s principled practice of criticism and self-criticism, ideological remolding, and systematic summing-up of experiences is a vital source of strength in confronting both internal weaknesses and external attacks. Inspired by this example, KGM-JS likewise commits to undergoing rectification by conducting social investigation and class analysis, critically assessing our work, and practicing criticism and self-criticism in order to identify weaknesses, rectify errors, and strengthen our resolve, unity, discipline, and effectiveness.

As part of the broader revolutionary movement, KGM-JS recognizes that the struggle of the Filipino people is inseparable from the global struggle against imperialism, fascism, and exploitation. We therefore commit to strengthening ties with other revolutionary and progressive forces while consistently advancing solidarity for the Philippine revolution through education and organized mass action.

In the face of a deepening crisis of the ruling system, we stand firmly with the CPP and the Filipino masses in their determination to advance the national democratic revolution. We are confident that under the leadership of the Party—steeled by rectification and deeply rooted among the masses—the Filipino people will continue to win victories on the road toward genuine liberation and socialism.

Long live the Communist Party of the Philippines!
Long live the Filipino people’s struggle for national democracy and socialism!
Down with imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism!
