Today we recall the revolutionary life and contributions of Ka Juanito Magbanua, who served as spokesman of the New People’s Army in Negros. He dedicated his life to the struggle of the sugarcane workers and farmworkers of Negros and the Filipino people, and for this, endeared himself to the masses. He was their advisor and comrade-in-arms, and lolo to their children.

We also renew our vow to exact justice for Ka Juanito who was brutally murdered by the 94th IB, exactly one year ago today, after being captured hors de combat in Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental. To achieve this, there can be no better way other than for the people and the NPA to spread the flames of people’s war to engulf all the fascists and liberate the people from social injustice and national oppression.
