79th IB operation traumatizes and kills Negros Occidental woman
Extreme fear and trauma from the 79th IB operations reportedly killed a yet to be identified woman in Sityo Toril, Barangay Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental last week. Lt. Col. Arnel Calaoagan led the battalion.
The 79th IB soldiers reportedly raided and ransacked the Mahusay family’s house where the woman was staying in Sityo Toril on May 20. The soldiers entered the house at five in the morning, which is their usual method to catch residents off guard during the quiet hours of rest.
Similarly in Barangay Minapasok, Calatrava, farmer Boyet de Asis suffered a stroke on May 23 after being threatened by seven 79th IB soldiers, and revolution traitors Marlon Basalo (Elan) and alias Jonel/Mike, in Sityo Kapanuya.
Plainclothes state forces wearing balaclavas went to de Asis’s house. They also entered other houses in the community owned by those they accuse of supporting the New People’s Army (NPA).
