NPA seizes 3 firearms from AFP intelligence agent in Negros
New People’s Army South Central Negros (NPA-SCN or Mt. Cansermon Command) seized three different types of firearms from an Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) intelligence agent in the town of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental. The Red fighters executed the operative, Diosdado “Dadoy” Apatan, in Sityo Gihubon, Barangay Amontay.
NPA-SCN spokesperson Ka Dionesio Magbuelas said Apatan had been a military asset since the 1980s. “He was active in espionage and guiding military operations,” he said.
Apatan was directly responsible for several cases, including the killing of civilian Binalbagan residents Felipe Camingawan and Amado Garson. His anti-people and counter-revolutionary activities also included targetting and accusing residents and the masses as “NPA supporters.” He colluded with the military in threatening and harassing residents.
The Red fighters seized from Apatan a .45 caliber firearm, a carbine, and a shotgun, as well as ammunition, proving that he was armed and a dangerous element.
Following the attack on Apatan, the NPA-South Central Negros called on all military spy agents to “realize they are being used only for the interests of the big landlords and comprador bourgeoisie.” The unit added that the revolutionary movement is open to their change of heart and renouncing anti-people activities.
