Palestinians hold US and Israel accountable for ceasefire violations
Zionist Israel continues to violate the ceasefire, now on its 179th day. At the same time, Hamas firmly rejected the US and Israel pressure for disarmament.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry and Government Media Office, more than 730 Palestinians have been killed and 2,000 wounded in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025. In just 24 hours between April 7 and 8, separate Israeli strikes killed seven and injured 17 Palestinians. Among the killed by a drone strike in Gaza City was Al Jazeera journalist Mohammed Wishah.
Israel committed further violations in bombing a school inside the Maghazi refugee camp, killing 10 people, and attacking a UN vehicle carrying World Health Organization personnel in Khan Yunis.
The Gaza Government Media Office reported that the total number of Israeli violations since October has reached more than 2,000 incidents.
Amid these attacks, Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida declared that the group is not open to discussing the disarmament of Palestinian fighters until Israel fully fulfills its obligations under the first phase of the ceasefire.
In a statement, Obeida called the push for Hamas to disarm “extremely dangerous” for Palestinian groups and civilians.
“What is required is to pressure the entity [Israel] to complete its commitments in the first stage, before talking about the terms of the second stage,” he said.
He condemned Israel’s ongoing targeting of civilians, denial of aid, closure of safe passage for wounded civilians, and restrictions on Palestinian access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.
He said Palestinians have fulfilled their obligations under the ceasefire with full sincerity and responsibility.
“The enemy is obstructing the agreement, and the biased American administration must be held accountable for its responsibilities,” Obeida said.
Support for Iran
Meanwhile, Obeida expressed support for Iran’s attacks against Israel and described US-Israeli aggression on the country as a continuation of the war on Gaza.
“The heinous crimes committed by the Zionist-American aggression against our brothers in the Islamic Republic remind the world of the genocidal crimes in Gaza,” he said.
He also mourned the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei and said the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades are following Iran’s actions “with immense pride and admiration.”
He called on all armed groups in the region, and on Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and inside Israel, to take action against Israel.
