Revolutionary youth lambasts NTF-Elcac

,

The revolutionary youth lambasted the recent statement of the fascist NTF-Elcac regarding the series of activities Kabataang Makabayan conducted in Metro Manila to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the New People’s Army.

These activities included Kabataang Makabayan (KM) putting up posters and stickers in private and public universities. KM and other National Democratic Front allied organizations carried out these activities in the national capital amid the Marcos regime’s intense fascist repression and terror.

The agency furiously declared that it would urge an investigation and pursue those involved. In its April 1 statement, the NTF-Elcac indicated that its primary targets for pursuit would be educational institutions, under the guise of ensuring student safety from “recruitment and radicalization,” while supposedly upholding academic freedom.

KM national spokesperson Ka Maria Laya Guerrero countered this statement. She said “NTF-Elcac pretends to care about academic freedom out of fear of incurring further political setbacks.”

Ka Maria asserted that the issue of academic freedom is fundamental and cannot be selective especially in the name of preserving a corrupt social order and state. She stated that academic freedom cannot exist where educations and discussions are curtailed out of fear of “recruitment and radicalization.”

The spokesperson further added that the investigation promised by the NTF-Elcac’s is outright repression against students, organizations, and academic administrators. She said the agency will certainly target legal mass organizations and institutions at a time when it fails to locate those in the revolutionary underground movement.

This scheme only reveals the NTF-Elcac’s true colors. “The NTF has sworn itself, since inception, as an enemy of the people and an anathema to democracy and social progress,” said Ka Maria.

KM assured that it will continue to fulfill its duty to propagate the revolution among more youth, students, and people under a puppet, exploitative, and fascist regime represented by Marcos. “The people have the right to take up arms against tyranny and the semi-colonial rule of the US,” said Ka Maria.

She added that it is KM’s right and duty to present the NPA for what it truly is: an instrument for the liberation of the Filipino people.
