Filipino people must fight Duterte to the day he dies
Duterte declared in his SONA that he will fight to the end of his term. But what will he fighting for? Will he be fighting for Philippine sovereignty? Will he be fighting for fishermen being denied their rights to fish? Will he be fighting for workers? Will he be fighting for the Lumads, the Moros and the minority peoples. Will he be fighting for the poor and stop killing them? After three years under his tyranny, the answer is clearly: No. No. No. And No.
Duterte is fighting only for himself. He is fighting for his political ambitions to stay in power and preserve his privileges. He is fighting for the Marcoses and Arroyos and his allies in corruption. He is fighting for his criminal drug syndicate friends. He is fighting alongside his Chinese bully boss. He is fighting for the interests of the US corporations and military. He is fighting the people who have learned to stand up and fight. And he is defending his interests with all the armed might of the military and police.
The people have no choice but to fight Duterte. They must fight for Philippine sovereignty and reclaim what he has surrendered. They must fight to assert their democratic rights against his tyranny and terrorism. They must fight for their right to their ancestral land. They must fight for the land they till. They must fight for jobs and higher wages. They must fight for their right to free education, health and public services.
They must fight Duterte to the day he dies and make sure he will be pay for all his crimes. Duterte can continue to kill, kill and kill. But he can’t kill every Filipino who aspire for freedom and democracy.
