Husband-and-wife Ka Layka and Ka Yuno were shot dead after being captured

The enemy’s claim that husband-and-wife Ka Layka and Ka Yuno were killed in an encounter, is a big lie. On the afternoon of September 1, they were captured in Barangay Kapitan Bayong, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. The 4ID then reported on September 4 that Ka Layka and Ka Yuno were killed in a 15-minute encounter that occured on Sept 3. They are said to be the only ones killed in the said encounter and that two AK47 and other things were recovered from them. The military gloated that they ensured that they would only hit the couple in the 15-minute clash. Of course, they’d hit only the two and kill them because they were already captured. The couple were “hors de combat,” unable to fight, when shot shot dead by elements of the 4ID PA.

Ka Yuno or Vincent Isagani Madlos, son of Ka Oris who was also murdered by the enemy, and Ka Yuno or Glorivic Campos Belandres, are members of the NPA. Being Ka Oris’ children, they have been targeted for execution by the 4ID so that they can no longer continue serving the Filipino masses by waging revolution.

They were abducted in a barangay near the national highway, they were on their way to the city for perform tasks that cannot be accomplished inside the (guerilla) zone. Ka Yuno was also in need of medical attention due to a hip injury from an encounter. They were unarmed when they left the area.

The 4ID rejoices in a false victory, a cowardly act. Why don’t they just admit that they caught the couple and then shot them as this has been the modus operandi of the US-Marcos Jr government, in continuation with Duterte’s policy.

Vice President Sara Duterte recently ordered the AFP/PNP, during a Command Conference, to show no mercy to revolutionaries (whom they labeled terrorists) and criminals. This only sanctioned the killings of Ka Layka and Ka Yuno and other revolutionaries who have become victims of state murder.

Ka Layka and Ka Yuno were young, but their precious lives were taken away by the butchers. Their executioners deprived the Filipino people of the golden contributions they could have given.

For a revolutionary mother, one cannot cry over their deaths, because one cannot cry with raging anger at their executioners, one cannot cry over sadness that has been transformed to courage. Turn grief into courage, as they say.

Recall that this was what they also did to Ka Oris who was arrested on October 29, 2021, while traveling to seek medical attention, and the 4ID then also claimed that they killed a 72-year-old revolutionary in an encounter.

Stop the killing of “hors de combat” revolutionaries!
