There were no armed encounters between New People’s Army and 62nd IB-PA in Guihulngan. But the truth was on August 16, 2022 in Sitio Kambairan, Brgy. Trinidad fascist 62nd IB-PA indiscriminately fired at the hut where innocent farmers, Boyet Cezar and Marjun Mahinay, were resting. And also in the morning of August 17, the Alpha Coy of 62nd IBPA, who were encamped in Sitio Casingan, Brgy. Trinidad, Guihulngan shot at siblings Onil Gonzaga and Jercel Gonzaga of Sitio Cantayson, Brgy. Mani-ak. These were contrary to the claims of Maj. Gen Arevalo and B.Gen. Pasaporte of 3ID-303rd IBde-PA.

These incidents created panic to the families of the victims and local residents of the area. Rampant trampling of the rights of the people under the Anti-terror Law, E.0. 70 and NTF-ELCAC through deceptions, forced surrenders and red-tagging have resulted to the arrest, trumped up charges and killings of local residents who their names were linked to revolutionary armed movement.

It must be remembered, uncomparable atrocities were unleashed by the fascist troops of 62nd IB-PA and PNP-SAF in massacring Christina and her daughter Everly Kee Jacolbe, and their relative Rodan Montero last July 26, and also in killing Pompeo Landesa in Sitio Catuptop last July 20, 2022.

Psychological warfare and physical abuses were rampant targeting local residents such as what happened to Lary Gelia of Sitio Natala, Brgy. Sandayao, Guihulngan. The fascist troops also ransacked the house of Ronnie Pasid in Sitio Oway-oway, Brgy. Quinten Remo, Moises Padilla.

Leonardo Panaligan Command also strongly condemns the lies, deceptions and atrocities committed by 62nd Infantry “Massacre” Battalion in Central Negros. These were clear desperate moves to weaken the revolutionary armed movement and the legitimate struggle of the masses for decent living and equal rights.

We are calling all the people to unite and fight for the genuine democracy and the protection of human rights. We are also calling all Red fighters under the Leonardo Panaligan Command to launch tactical offensives, defend and protect the lives and livelihood of the oppressed and exploited peasant masses.
