The New People’s Army in Northern Samar reported that a team of Red fighters punished an active military informant also responsible of murder, extortion, theft and other crimes against the people.

The Rodante Urtal Command (NPA-RUC) said that the local NPA unit imposed the capital punishment upon Romil “Oming” Acebuche, 26, in Barangay Geadgawan, Pambujan last August 22 at around 9 in the morning.

After conducting an investigation into numerous complaints it received from barrio residents, the NPA found Acebuche responsible of the following crimes against the masses:

o Active collaboration with the fascist military. He served as an infiltrator and intelligence agent, attempted to raid an NPA unit, forced several individuals to “surrender,” and took several firearms which he surrendered to the enemy in exchange for monetary reward;

o Murder of civilians Halito Taco, Sales Galero, “Boranting” Lukban, and two children;

o Falsely claiming to be representative of the revolutionary movement to extort up to P335,000 in cash, food and other material from the masses;

o Theft of livestock such as carabao, pigs, and chickens; and,

o Threat and harassment of barrio folk, which resulted to their dislocation and disruption of livelihood.

The NPA unit responsible for the military action added that villagers of Geadgawan fear and condemn Acebuche because of the damages he has caused upon their lives and livelihood.

“The punishment imposed upon Acebuche is one form of attaining revolutionary justice in the name of his victims and their families.

“It serves as a reminder that revolutionary justice awaits those who continue to actively collaborate with the fascist military, cause destruction among the masses, and pose a threat to territories of the People’s Democratic Government in the countryside.”
