Even worse, the government pits the people against each other. It turns the issue between the welfare of the commuters versus the drivers, the consumers versus the sellers, the fare increases and price hikes. When in fact, the real root of all these problems is the incessant oil price hikes and what must be done are policies that will directly bring it lower.

The ceaseless price hikes are due to oil cartels, financial institutions and US imperialist’s tight control over the oil industry. In the country, cartels’ control is exacerbated by the full deregulation of the local oil industry. Big oil companies freely manipulate the pricing, supply and distribution while the puppet government incontinently allows them to do so.

NDF-Bikol is one with the Filipino nation in condemning the regime’s inaction, as well as the imperialist US in collusion with oil cartels and big transnational companies that devour superprofits from the spoils of exploitation. As the crisis brought about by the petroleum products’ prices worsens, the mass movement is compelled to fortify its anti-imperialist struggle and direct its organized force against the current patron of neoliberalism in the country – the Marcos II regime.
