The Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) – Negros is one with the entire revolutionary movement in extending sympathies to the bereaved family of Ka Fidel V. Agcaoili, chief of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines’ Negotiating Panel. He was to turn 76 today.

The death of a revolutionary, as Chairman Mao said, is heavy as that of a mountain. Ka Fidel’s life, despite coming from a privileged position, was wholeheartedly offered in service of the people and the revolution despite the perils it includes and him being the longest political detainees during the Marcos regime. He will be remembered as a respected leader and revolutionary.

In recent years, he has represented the entire revolutionary movement in the peace negotiations and has continued to strengthen the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Today, August 8, is the Day of Remembrance and Tribute to Ka Fidel. He is remembered as a hero of the Philippine Revolution and his valiant deeds will be carried on by his successors.
