”The People’s War is for the People’s Peace”–NPA to NTF-Elcac
The Apolinario Gatmaitan Command-New People’s Army (AGC-NPA) fiercely slammed the NTF-Elcac’s statement regarding the 57th anniversary of the founding of the NPA last March 29.
In a press release on March 31st, AGC-NPA spokesperson Ka Maoche Legislador labelled NTF-Elcac Executive Director Ernesto Torres Jr’s statement as ‘utterly misleading and filled with deception believable only for narrow-minded scum like him’.
”The Filipino people cherish and celebrate their genuine army. For 57 years, it is the wholehearted support of the exploited and oppressed masses that has continuously invigorated the armed struggle to not only persist, but also advance despite the all-out attacks of imperialist puppet regimes up to the current US-Marcos II rule,” stressed Legislador.
The rebel spokesperson slammed Torres Jr for ‘misunderstanding revolutionary violence’, saying that ‘it is a necessary and just answer towards systematic terrorism unleashed by fascist toadies in the AFP, PNP and other paramilitary groups at the behest of the ruling class’.
”Perhaps he (Torres Jr) chooses to turn a blind eye that it is in fact, the reactionary state that is causing poverty and suffering among the Filipino masses, and that this is the very reason that urges the latter to support and eventually take up arms and serve the revolution, scorning the rotten ruling system and opting to build a better one through armed struggle,” Legislador added.
Legislador also expressed that ‘it is not misinformation when the poor bear the brunt of landlessness, job insecurity, hunger, skyrocketing prices alongside wanton human rights violations while those in power luxuriate in corruption and evade punishment; these are precisely the very reasons why they join the NPA’.
”The people’s war is for the people’s peace. The Filipino people have long been subjected to systemic socioeconomic and humanitarian violence, and it is only right to answer it with armed struggle – the only means that can dismantle the decaying semicolonial and semifeudal status quo.
While exploitation and oppression brought about by imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism remain, peace will only be a privilege to the elite few while the majority of the masses suffer. Thus, the revolution presses on,” ended Legislador.
