Soldiers of the 88th IB rained bullets on Lumads Levi, Jemboy and an unnamed person in Sitio Takukon, Barangay Indalasa, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon last November 17 in the morning. The three were in the forest to collect durian when soldiers suddenly shot at them.

The victims suffered bruises, wounds and trauma from scurrying and passing though a cliff just to survive. After the incident, the 88th IB boasted of seizing a weapon in its false claim of an encounter with the New People’s Army.

The next day, the indigenous leader of the area, Datu Andihal, complained to the barangay and confronted the soldiers of the 88th IB encamped in Barangay Indalasa but was brushed off.
