Units of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Eastern Visayas and Southern Tagalog performed a 21-gun salute for martyrs of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the revolutionary movement in their respective regions.

On November 30, the NPA-Southern Tagalog conducted a 21-gun salute for Josephine Mendoza (Ka Sandy), one of the region’s Party leader. At the same time, Party units here also launched secret gatherings and honors for her.

On November 23, the NPA-Eastern Visayas gave a silent 21-gun salute for the Imelda 6, the six comrades who were martyred in the bombing of the 8th ID in Barangay Imelda, Las Navas, Northern Samar on November 23, 2022. They saluted Ka Helenita Pardalis (Ka Elay), Ka Gil Giray (Ka Biboy), Ka Mamoy, Ka Mela, Ka Mike and Ka Joshua.

The National Democratic Front-EV also honored the martyrs of Dolores 22, Catbalogan 10 and Bobon 7, all victims of the terrorist bombing of the 8th ID, and all the martyrs of the Philippine revolution.
