Gabriela condemns break in and theft at Caloocan office

,

Gabriela Caloocan condemned unidentified perpetrators for the illegally breaking in and robbing their office on February 17. The stolen items included a projector, leaflets for the EDSA anniversary on February 25, canned goods, and others. They ransacked the office, and scattered clothes and objects.

The group’s office was first forcibly entered and placed under surveillance by men who identified themselves as police on October 28, 2025.

According to the group, the incident is linked to the militarization and red-tagging by the NTF-Elcac and the 12th Civil Military Operation (CMO) across North Caloocan communities. Surveillance and spying against Caloocan activist leaders reportedly followed one after the other since the year began.

Beyond Caloocan, the city of Malabon is also being militarized. The 11th and 12th CMO soldiers are currently encamped in several barangays of Malabon. Troopers are also encamped inside public schools.

Defend Caloocan Human Rights, Anakbayan, Panday Sining, and Karapatan NCR all denounced the incident.
