Red commanders and fighters of the New People’s Army (NPA)-Quezon (Apolonio Mendoza Command) and revolutionary forces from the localities and urban centers gathered to collectively celebrate the Communist Party of the Philippines’ (CPP) 57th anniversary. Guests arrived safely, and the gathering took place amid the relentless combat operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the province.

Resounding applause greeted the march of the NPA before singing the Internationale and beginning the program. After this, the army and guests offered the highest tribute to Comrades Jose Maria Sison, Benito Tiamzon and Wilma Austria-Tiamzon, Luis Jalandoni, Maria Malaya, the martyrs of NPA-Quezon, and all who gave their lives for the liberation of the oppressed people.

With the theme “Further ignite the people’s aspiration in the province to end the rotten system!”, the program featured solidarity messages and cultural performances from representatives of various revolutionary organizations. These included presentations by the Pambansang Katipunan ng Magbubukid (National Peasants Alliance), Makabayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan (Patriotic Momement of New Women), Liga ng Agham para sa Bayan (League of Science for the People), Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan (People’s Artists and Writers), Kabataang Makabayan (Patriotic Youth), and Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle.

The Red fighters of NPA-Quezon welcomed the message conveyed by KM members. They said they look forward to KM’s response to the resounding call for the mass enlistment of youth in the NPA to serve in the people’s war in the countryside.

According to the message sent by the FFPS from North America, the masses eagerly desire change, and we must heed their call by studying Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, investigating and analyzing the people’s conditions until we achieve a deep grasp, and working tirelessly to earn their trust and support. “If we heed their call, our efforts will surely bear fruit!” it stated.

Ending the program, participants discussed the Central Committee statement titled “Conditions are excellent for further advancing the people’s democratic revolution.” The program also read the statement of the Regional Committee of the Party in Southern Tagalog titled “Lead the surge of the mass movement toward the overthrow of the US-Marcos regime! Strengthen the Party and establish deep grounding among the masses!”

Before leaving, everyone shared the prepared spaghetti, bread, and chicken afritada. Each one was pleased and full of optimism about facing the coming year, especially the NPA-Quezon Red fighters who, aside from receiving gifts of new uniforms, looked forward to the promise of the visitors to return to the guerrilla zone.#
