Cpl. Rodel Felismino was killed while Pfc Jamil Forte was wounded in the ambush launched by the Red fighters of the NPA-Sorsogon (Celso Minguez Command) on September 6, around 11:30 in the morning, in Sityo Sabang, Barangay Calpi, Bulan, Sorsogon. The two belong to the 22nd IB unit based in Barangay Calmayon, Juban.

“The action is a response by the NPA-Sorsogon to the clamor of the people in different barrios of Magallanes, Bulan, Irosin and Juban who have been harassed and suppressed by soldiers during military operations in the area since March,” Ka Samuel Guerrero, NPA-Sorsogon spokesperson, said.

The Red army also exalts the heroism of Arnel “Ka Mando” Estiller and other comrades who sacrificed their lives in the revolutionary struggle, Ka Samuel said.

The NPA-Sorsogon expressed determination to address the grievances of the people and defend them against the fascist forces of the state. They will also try to launch similar actions in other parts of the province.
