‘AFP declares another fake encounter in Negros’–NPA

The Apolinario Gatmaitan Command – New People’s Army (AGC-NPA) debunked 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander BGen. Inocencio Pasaporte’s claim of an armed encounter in Sitio Bulasot, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last August 11 allegedly following a confirmed encounter between Red fighters and troops of the Mount Cansermon Command – NPA South Central Negros Front (MCC-NPA) and troops of the 94th Infantry Battalion a day before in the same area.

“Pasaporte fabricated the August 11 encounter to hide the fact that the 94th IB was bombarding the forests with M203 grenades when they were unable to pursue the NPA unit after the encounter,” Ka Juanito Magbanua, AGC-NPA spokesperson, stated in a statement today.

Magbanua called out the AFP for “routinely declaring fake encounters to cover up their failure to defeat the revolutionary movement in the island.”

He also mentioned that intensified militarization in the island has only resulted to grave human rights violations.

“These include illegal arrests with planted evidence and trumped-up charges, murder, and massacres that involve even children that has unwittingly swayed the people to support and join the armed revolution,” expressed Magbanua.

The AGC-NPA also honored the martyrdom of Anthony “Ka Bal” Ariola who “valiantly gave his life to ensure that his comrades could withdraw safely.”

“Despite the difficulties brought about by large-scale military operations, the AGC-NPA is determined to advance the armed revolution and will continue to wage tactical offensives to bring justice to the victims of the brutal and fascist AFP and PNP,” Magbanua concluded.
