The New People’s Army in Leyte carried out the capital punishment against serial rapist and active military agent Catalino “Imbaw” Mallorca, 56, resident of Barangay Pinamonoan, Mahaplag, Leyte, last May 14 at 9:02 in the evening.

The punishment was carried out after investigations of the NPA found Mallorca guilty of raping his own under-aged daughter, who was then 15 years old and had found courage to seek reprieve only after a year.

The NPA also found Mallorca guilty of numerous instances of voyeurism, trespassing, and other sexually-exploitative acts committed against women, as well as several acts of theft.

His own family, his victims and other residents had complained Mallorca several times to the police who did nothing.

Aside from being a bad element, Mallorca was also a notorious counter-revolutionary. He was an active agent of the military, regularly joining combat operations with his AFP-issued military uniform and M-16 rifle. He served as an informant and guide for soldiers during combat operations in Pinamonoan and nearby barrios.

The peasant residents also complained how he would make up fake reports to the military, thus disturbing their lives and livelihood.
