Relentless protests for Maduro’s return

,

Continuous and tireless protests are erupting inside and outside Venezuela demanding the US to return President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores to their country. On January 3, Maduro and Flores were abducted by US troops in Caracas and brought to the United States.

Inside Venezuela, daily demonstrations began on the very day of Maduro’s abduction and continue to date. The Bolivarian state built by Maduro, Hugo Chavez, and the Venezuelan anti-imperialist forces stands firm and united. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez convened the national leadership, and all branches of government remain fully operational. Even opposition parties joined in, except for Maria Machado’s pro-US puppet party.

Half a million people marched in Cuba on January 19 at the funeral for 32 Cuban soldiers killed while defending Maduro and Flores during their abduction. The Cuban soldiers were among over 100 killed by the US in its acts of aggression.

In Italy, tens of thousands marched across 30 cities on January 10 in solidarity with Venezuela and to demand Maduro’s immediate release.

India’s ten major opposition political parties, including several communist parties, issued a resolution of solidarity with Venezuela on January 12. They condemned the Trump regime’s threats against Cuba, Mexico, Iran, Colombia, and Greenland. The groups protested in series across India joined by thousands of workers, intellectuals, and peasants.
