NPA-North Negros acquire information on the PNP intelligence network in Negros Occidental

The New People’s Army (NPA)-Northern Negros (Roselyn Jean Pelle Command) reported that it has acquired information on the intelligence network of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in North Negros from a smartphone owned by a police officer. The phone belonged to PSMS Rommel Aguilar of the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (NOCPMFC), who was killed in an NPA armed action.

Aguilar died in the encounter between the NPA and the police at Purok 5, Barangay Lagaan, Calatrava on December 7. A 9mm pistol, ammunition, and other items were confiscated from him. While withdrawing from an armed action earlier that day, the NPA team encountered Aguilar’s police unit in Sitio Tagda, Barangay Dolis.

Aguilar served as commander of the PMFC maneuver platoon. His platoon was stationed at the sugarcane loading facility of the despotic landlord Tim Ballesteros in Barangay Mabini, Escalante City.

He also served as the main handler of all operatives, assets, and informants in the PNP’s counterinsurgency intelligence operations in North Negros. Many of his assets and personnel were former NPA members who betrayed the movement and now actively serve the reactionary state.

NPA-North Negros spokesperson Ka Cecil Estrella said they obtained the full information on the PNP’s counterinsurgency intelligence network covering Escalante City, Toboso, and Calatrava. From this, the NPA unit identified the secret information of key police assets and the list of all paid informants.

In relation to this, Ka Cecil urged the exposed assets to surrender to the people’s army and abandon their anti-people and counterrevolutionary activities.
