Party branch in Rizal holds study session, tribute to Ka Joma
Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) branch members gathered at a secret location in a Rizal urban center on December 16 for a study session on the Basic Party Course (BPC). The branch diligently prepared for the study session, making sure of its security.
The Party branch began the study session by remembering and honoring the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Jose Maria Sison, Party Central Committee founding chairperson. Ka Joma died on December 16, 2022.
Students, instructors, and supporters of the study session watched videos, including one about Kabataang Makabayan and an interview with Ka Joma. This was followed by students sharing the writings of Ka Joma that struck them the most or how he influenced them as Party members.
An instructor said the sharing went well because it became an opportunity for younger activists who had not met Ka Joma and older ones who had known him to exchange perspectives.
At the end of the opening activity of the study session, they sang two songs. A BPC student also wrote a poem.
The BPC is the first course in the Party’s three-level study program. The BPC provides the basic documents and principles of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism in a simple and accessible way. The session also serves as a way to train new instructors for the succeeding series of study sessions.
