The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) calls on all revolutionary forces, including all units of the New People’s Army (NPA), in the areas along the path of supertyphoon Karding to take urgent action to help people amid high probability of widespread destruction.

Mass organizations, as well as units of the NPA, must closely monitor the situation in their areas and extend all possible forms of assistance to the people, including evacuation to safer ground and search and rescue operations. Local organized efforts will be critically important.

After the typhoon passes, all Party committees and mass organizations must immediately assess the damage and take immediate steps to assist people recover from their losses.

We urge all units of the NPA and the masses to take all necessary precaution amid the danger of widespread flooding and landslides.
