8th ID deliberately kills 3 hors de combat in Samar
The 8th ID soldiers deliberately killed three New People’s Army (BHB)-Western Samar (Arnulfo Ortiz Command) hors de combat fighters in Samar in April.
On April 17, soldiers wilfully killed Ka John Paul in Barangay Salvacion, Jiabong. They first shot him and hit his thigh, rendering him no longer in a condition to fight. Instead of providing treatment, they tortured him, shot him in the chest, and killed him.
On April 23, soldiers captured Ka Mike and Ka Oking in the town of Motiong. Soldiers tortured them for an entire day before riddling their bodies with bullets. On April 24, soldiers staged an encounter in Barangay Caulayanan to make it appear that the two were killed in battle.
