42nd People's Cordillera Day
More than 1,600 people gathered in various provinces and cities in Cordillera, as well as outside the region, to celebrate the 42nd People’s Cordillera Day. The Cordillera People’s Alliance, its allied groups, supporters, and groups defending indigenous peoples’ rights held the activities and gatherings on April 22-25.
Activities were reported in Mountain Province, Benguet, Baguio City, Kalinga, Abra, and Apayao. Celebrations and solidarity actions also took place in Metro Manila, Canada, Hong Kong, and US. Each activity had its own particularity and featured issues but all are united under the central theme: Fight for Our Rights to Land, Life, and Livelihood.n.
