Protests against the US war machine
Various successive protests against Balikatan and US imperialist wars in various parts of the world. Environmental groups and other organizations marched on April 22 from Taft Avenue, Manila to the US Embassy to mark Earth Day. They condemned the US-Marcos regime for entering “Pax Silica” and demanded the US and Israel to be held accountable for their wars in the Middle East that caused serious damage to society and the environment in Asia.
Students and Moro leaders under Youth for Justice and Peace trooped to the US embassy on April 28 to call for an end to the US war in Iran. They called for scrapping the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement signed on April 28, 2014.
Academic, progressive, religious organizations, artists and others gathered on April 23 to launch the Stop the US-Israel War in Iran Campaign Network. They held it at Bulwagang Tandang Sora at University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City. The formed network is a broad alliance of groups and individuals opposed to the US aggression war in Iran, Palestine and Lebanon. They are establishing similar networks at the regional and local levels nationwide.
