Cavite 'bomb scare', a Marcos regime scheme—NDF Cavite
The National Democratic Front (NDF)-Cavite condemned the “bomb scare” in Dasmariñas City on December 2, which the Marcos regime then maliciously portrayed as from the New People’s Army (NPA)-Cavite. The alleged threat was circulated through a fake Facebook account of “Hukbong Para sa Bayan.”
News spread throughout the city that bombs were planted inside the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas, City of Dasmariñas Arena, and City of Dasmariñas Grandstand that day, terrified the residents.
NDF-Cavite spokesperson Ka Simeon Magdiwang said the bomb scare was fake. He said this scheme clearly aims to terrorize the people and discredit the revolutionary movement.
“Revolutionaries will never spread terror or cause harm to the masses,” Ka Simeon said. He added that only Marcos and his militarist and police war-freak minions have the gall to endanger the people in such a way.
The NPA-Southern Tagalog (Melito Glor Command) immediately issued a statement denying any involvement of their unit in the bomb scare. “This is clearly disinformation and a smear campaign against the NPA to divert public attention amid the people’s seething outrage over the reactionary state’s grave corruption,” NPA-Southern Tagalog spokesperson Ka Cleo del Mundo said.
She said the NPA does not bomb schools or arenas where many civilians could be harmed. She added that the NPA strictly upholds its duty to protect the Filipino people’s interests and adhere to international humanitarian law and the rules of war.
She said the Marcos regime is ludicrous in demonizing the NPA when the real evil and terrorist in Filipino people’s eyes is the fascist and king of corruption, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“The NPA’s use of arms is solely aimed against the people’s enemies, especially the reactionary armed forces of the AFP-PNP, to deliver justice for the masses it serves,” Ka Cleo said.
