NDF-Metro Manila leads march for CPP 57th anniversary
National Democratic Front (NDF)-Metro Manila led revolutionary groups in a march in Baclaran, Pasay City on December 22. This was in celebration of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) 57th anniversary on December 26.
Kabataang Makabayan-Lucille Gypsy Zabala Brigade (KM-LGZ) and Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan-Marlon Caacbay Brigade (Armass-MC) members attended the action. They carried flags and placards honoring the CPP and calling on the people to join the New People’s Army (NPA).
They also distributed copies of Ang Bayan’s December 21 issue editorial which featured the Filipino people’s ordeal and valiant struggles over the past year.
“In the coming months, let us launch an energized and broad campaign to celebrate the victories of the working class and the Filipino people in the decades-long advancement of revolutionary struggles under the guidance of the Party,” NDF-Metro Manila spokesperson Ka Karso Mapagpalaya said.
At the program, the revolutionary groups honored the martyrs who gave their lives in advancing the people’s democratic revolution. These included Party cadres and members, NPA commanders and fighters, revolutionary mass organizations’ leaders and members, and masses who devoted their time and lives to the revolution.
NDF-Metro Manila also expressed the resolve of revolutionary forces in the region to rectify mistakes and overcome all weaknesses and reluctance. “Draw out and unite the anger in the hearts of the masses, and lead their struggles especially amid severe oppression and exploitation,” Ka Karso said.
He stated that to carry out these new tasks, recruiting new forces filled with zeal, vigor, and militancy is necessary. “Let us retrace the 57 years of revolutionary struggle, from emergence to advance, through retreats and renewed offensives, and through victories, setbacks, and greater triumphs,” Ka Karso said.
Meanwhile, a few days after the march, a KM-LGZ chapter launched sticker-posting and painting operations (OPOD) in Pasay City. According to the chapter, they were able to carry out an OPOD in the city for first time, proving KM’s expansion and strengthening in Metro Manila.
