NDFP groups hold march to celebrate CPP 57th anniversary in Manila

More than 100 members of revolutionary groups allied with the National Democratic Front marched on the morning of December 21 along Avenida in Manila. The event marked the 57th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), to be celebrated on December 26.

Protest partipants included Kabataang Makabayan (Patriotic Youth), Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan (People’s Artists and Writers), Makabayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan (Patriotic Alliance of New Women), Revolutionary Council of Trade Unions, Makabayang Kawaning Pilipino (Patriotic Filipino Employees), and Compatriots. The marchers carried placards and flags representing their respective organizations.

They called on the public to participate in launching the people’s democratic revolution as the means to end corruption and the rotten state. They urged Filipinos to join the New People’s Army (NPA) and dedicate their strength to building the people’s government in the countryside.

The protest was fearlessly held despite police presence in the area, who did nothing but take photos until the program concluded.

The rally was part of a series of activities by revolutionary organizations this December. The general effort of revolutionary groups to strengthen themselves aligns with the ongoing rectification movement of the revolutionary movement launched since December 2023.
