NDFP launches reading of statement on CPP’s 57th anniversary
On December 26, the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP)–International Office hosted an online broadcast where the anniversary statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) was read in full. With the theme “Face the challenge of rectification: Celebrate, rectify, unite, struggle, advance!,” the activity celebrated the party’s 57th anniversary.
Nearly 300 people attended the NDFP-organized Zoom and Discord meeting. After the livestream, the Filipino and English versions of the statement reading were posted on Youtube. Because of heavy censorship, Youtube immediately deleted the uploaded video. The reading of the full statement lasted for almost two hours.
Opening the activity, NDFP representative Marian Espinosa discussed the suffering experienced by the Filipino people and the favorable conditions that the revolutionary movement must seize to advance the people’s war. The discussion also covered the NDF’s duty to unite all classes and sectors against the three scourges of the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society and to advance the revolution toward complete victory.
Other NDFP chapters overseas also held celebrations for the party’s anniversary. In Australia, Compatriots-Australia, Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS) and allied parties organized a gathering. Compatriots-Kabataang Makabayan Narrm-Melbourne members launched a poster operation.
CPP chief information officer Marco Valbuena said these activities are a direct slap in the face of Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the AFP, and the NTF-Elcac, who are desperate to belittle the steady strengthening of the revolutionary movement. The activities also demonstrate the determination of the Party and allied groups to advance the ongoing rectification movement, which is now approaching its third year.
