In commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the founding of Κabataang Makabayan, Filipino migrant and diaspora youth carry the torch of the revolutionary movement even overseas!

By propagating our work among Filipino youth here in the imperial core, we affirm that the revolutionary spirit of KM cannot be broken by the fascist Marcos regimes, old and new, nor the foreign imperialists they collaborate with.

With ongoing news about climate disasters ripping through the country, and the severe lack of state support, aid, and infrastructure, it is clear as day why so many Filipinos leave our homeland. The blatant corruption of Bureaucrat-Capitalists in the Philippines has always been a key factor in why many Filipinos believe they “choose” to go abroad. This leaves many of our kababayan feeling hopeless as they study abroad and work to send money back home to support their loved ones, growing up in a foreign capitalist country that also seeks to exploit us. However, many of our youth are seeing the alternative to hopelessness: revolutionary optimism, and choosing to continue the struggle. KM understands that the only way to truly address these deeply rooted issues is to tear down the rotten system through аrmеԁ rеѕіѕtаոce.

Local KM members met in secret to create a revolutionary zine and poster in firm support of the CPP, NPA and NDF and watch the documentary History of the Underground (2017). Together, we learned and discussed the realities of clandestine organizing during the Martial Law era. The activity strengthened our revolutionary vigor and consolidated our role as torchbearers to continue the historic legacy of Filipino youth activists. KM members from across the local region were able to discuss with one another to further solidify their understanding and support of the реорIеѕ’ ԝаr being waged in the countryside in the Philippines.

On this 61st Anniversary, KM dispersed within our communities to distribute the revolutionary materials we made. The message we want to spread is that, now more than ever, we are emboldened to keep growing our underground revolutionary organizations with youth and workers, and empowered to push forward the advancement of our рrоtrаctеԁ реорIеѕ’ ԝаr.
