The issuance of Wanted posters is a step taken against impunity
The recent issuance of Wanted posters by the revolutionary movement in Southern Tagalog region that contained names and photos of individuals that the masses want to punish and bring to justice are based on legitimate cases filed against them by the people. Processing their cases and issuing the said posters are in accordance with policies implemented by the People’s Democratic Government as a recognized authority in areas where red political power exists. The People’s Democratic Government and its functions comply with International Humanitarian Law.
National Democratic Front-Rizal clarifies this in light of the release of the NTF-ELCAC’s statement that this is a form of “spy-tagging” and psywar that endangers the lives of the identified individuals. Ernesto Torres Jr’s distorts these cases as to having no evidence when in fact he protects these criminals who endanger lives of ordinary citizens and trample on human rights.
Eric Simogan, one of the individuals in the Wanted posters, has multiples cases filed against him regarding betrayal and treachery toward the revolutionary movement and putting the lives of ordinary people in danger. He has surrendered and voluntarily compromised with the 80th IBPA, and now is a mouthpiece of the same unit and of the 2nd IDPA. Since 2020, he had been an instrument for spreading the NTF-ELCAC’s lies regarding the revolutionary movement and the people of Rizal province. He has maliciously terror-tagged people who legitimately struggle for their interests and welfare. He has led blocking off mass actions and demonstrations of progressive groups. His victims include people from the sectors of peasants, Dumagats and Remontados, workers, the urban poor and the youth and students in Rizal.
Simogan’s actions, in fact, are those that endanger the lives of the Rizaleño masses up until today. This also only goes to show the gall that the NTF-ELCAC has to try to turn the tables and make it out to be the revolutionary movement as the one putting lives at risk. It is because of these crimes that the People’s Democratic Government received complaints and the wish to bring him to justice according to its due process.
The issuance of Wanted posters is proof of the People’s Democratic Government’s action toward the case filed by the people, and that it will not let impunity and non-accountability reign in society. It is only right that the cases of individuals like Simogan be exposed to the public as a step towards attaining justice. Again, NDF-Rizal reassures that the laws and processes of the People’s Democratic Government are in accordance with International Humanitarian Law.
We encourage the people to continue filing cases to the People’s Democratic Government against those who trample on their human rights and endanger their lives and livelihood. Let us march towards genuine justice and against impunity!
