The New People’s Army (NPA)-Southwest Negros (Armando Sumayang Jr Command) mounted five military actions in March. The unit conducted three harassment operations and two disarming operations.

On March 1, the people’s army fired upon the 15th IB detachment in Barangay Haba, Candoni, Negros Occidental. On March 9 and March 16, the NPA fired at 15th IB soldiers in Sitio Patol, Barangay Caliling and Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Narra, both in the town of Cauayan.

Disarming operations against counterrevolutionary and criminal elements within the unit’s jurisdiction were conducted on March 12 and March 19. The Red fighters confiscated two firearms from their targets who were proven guilty of offenses against the people and the revolutionary movement.
