Filipino migrants in Europe and the US join anti-fascist rallies
Millions in the US and hundreds of thousands in Europe joined separate protests in recent weeks to condemn the expanding and intensifying fascism and racism in their countries. Filipinos under Migrante in Europe and Tanggol Migrante Movement in the US, took active part in these actions.
In the US, an estimated 8 million people joined the third “No Kings” protest on March 28 to denounce Trump’s monarchal rule. A total of 3,300 protest actions were recorded across the country. The number of participants was 2 million more than the previous “No Kings” held on October 25, 2025.
Protesters denounced his repressive measures and impunity. This include his wars in the Middle East, his persecution of migrants and immigrants, cuts to social services, and the plunder of wealth by his family and allied corporations. Outside the US, protests against Trump were also held in France, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Greece.
In the United Kingdom (UK), up to half a million people marched toward the Houses of Parliament on March 28 to oppose racism and the country’s ultra-right trajectory. It was the largest protest in UK history against ultra-nationalist and anti-migrant forces.
A total of 500 organizations, including unions, anti-racism groups, and representatives of Muslim communities, united to mount the demonstration.
