Revolutionaries strengthen propaganda work in Eastern Visayas

,

The revolutionary movement in Eastern Visayas strives to strengthen its propaganda work to deliver the message of revolution to the toiling masses in the region. The movement has implemented decisive measures in its propaganda efforts amid the 8th ID’s intensifying focused military operations (FMO) and aggressive counterinsurgency propaganda in the region.

Recent weeks saw the announced appointment of the regional revolutionary organizations’ new spokespersons.

Comrade Celine Manlimbasog has been appointed as the new National Democratic Front-Eastern Visayas spokesperson, replacing former spokesperson Fr. Santiago Salas (Ka Sanny).

Ka Celine’s chosen name is derived from the names of two beloved Philippine revolution heroes in the region—Helenita Pardalis (Ka Elay/Ka Celine) and Antonio Cabanatan (Ka Manlimbasog/Ka Susing). Pardalis was the former Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Eastern Visayas Regional Committee secretary, while Cabanatan was the former Visayas Commission secretary and became Regional Committee’s Executive Committee member in Eastern Visayas.

Ka Celine said she and the NDF-EV Media Office will strive to continuously deliver news of the revolution to the people of the region and the entire country. “The masses extremely yearn for revolution, having grown weary of the current system and realizing that only revolution can achieve genuine social change,” she said.

She added that they face a major challenge from the 8th ID’s vast resources, agents, and its influence in mainstream and social media to silence the voice of the revolutionary movement and the people.

She called on the people of EV to unite and fight amid the reactionary state’s attacks. “We must strengthen our ranks, organize, and join the revolutionary struggle. In our unity, the reactionary paper tigers cannot defeat us,” she said.

Aside from the NDF-EV, new spokespersons were also appointed for the regional chapters of the Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid (PKM), Kabataang Makabayan (KM), Makabayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan (Makibaka), and Katipunan ng mga Gurong Makabayan (Kaguma). Comrade Elias Sumuroy will serve as PKM’s voice, Joy Marie del Sol for KM, Lorena Banaag for Makibaka, and Edgar Sarigan for Kaguma.

Since October 25, the NDF-EV Media Office has also republished the Larab newspaper. The publication of the regional paper had been in hiatus for more than two years. It is now releasing a weekly issue. Editions of Larab are available every Saturday on PRWC or Philippine Revolution Web Central (philippinerevolution.nu).
