Romulo Jallores Command NPA-Bikol congratulates the Masbatenyo masses and their true army under the leadership of the Jose Rapsing Command NPA-Masbate for another successful offensive action against the enemy force. A unit of JRC NPA-Masbate ambushed elements of 2nd IBPA and CAFGU at the boundaries of Brgy. Miabas, Palanas and Brgy. Buenaflor, Dimasalang last October 7. One of the casualties was Rene Capellan, a CAFGU member. Capellan had a standing case for attempted rape.

NPA-Masbate valiantly faces heightened AFP-PNP militarization. Last year, the whole island province was under a month-long focused military operation. More than 1,200 enemy elements were deployed. Their focus were primarily in the towns of Palanas and Cawayan. Large enemy formations also assailed towns of Placer, Cataingan, Dimasalang, Pio V. Corpuz, Esperanza and Uson. But despite this, JRC NPA-Masbate was able to successfully launch 21 offensive actions in just one month. The enemy force incurred several casualties including 44 killed and 34 wounded elements.

The Masbatenyo masses are angered by the AFP-PNP’s unbridled terrorism against their ranks. Millions of pesos were wasted by the military and police in conducting operations and aerial attacks while the masses that they target starve. While the masses beg for paltry ayuda, public funds go to the incessant flights of attack helicopters, for the torrent of hundreds of kilos of bombs and millions of bullets, for the salaries of the mercenary police and military.

The Masbatenyos are duly aware that the large interests of big capitalists and their own staunch struggle against it are the primary reasons why the military and police force torment them. That is why, despite these attacks, they remain reliant on their class unity and just struggle. They know that their strongest defense and their hope for a genuinely peaceful and just future lies upon their constant support and participation to the people’s democratic revolution and armed struggle.
