International organizations and fraternal parties greet the CPP on its 56th anniversary
Various international organizations and fraternal parties sent greetings to the celebration of the 56th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) on December 26. They greeted the Party for its continuing leadership of the Philippine revolution for nearly six decades and amid the worsening socio-economic and political crisis under the US-Marcos regime.
“The importance of the CPP’s proletarian leadership in the history and future of the Philippine revolution cannot be overstated,” international group Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS) chairperson Robert Reid. He added that the Party has proven the correctness of its political analysis of Philippine society through continuous revolutionary practice.
According to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Australia (Marxist-Leninist), the CPP’s revolutionary leadership brings together all sectors of society, including workers, peasants, indigenous peoples, education and health professionals, with a revolutionary vision of land reform, national sovereignty and socialism. “Whether in the countryside or the cities or in the villages, the Filipino people’s protracted struggle is always fierce,” the CPA(ML) further stated.
The CPA(ML) also shared that their party is a staunch comrade of the CPP in representing the struggle of the Filipino and Australian peoples against imperialism, rejection of imperialist war and building an anti-imperialist united front. It said that the US-Australia military alliance and AUKUS is dragging their country into war provocations against US’ imperialist rival China, just as it is doing with the Philippines.
From Vietnam, “Serve the People” (Vietnam) conveys its greetings to the CPP. “Your revolutionary struggle is a great example of the oppressed proletariats and peoples forces all over the world,” the group said. They shared that their organization is carrying out the struggle for the reconstitution of the Communist Party in Vietnam and to initiate the people’s war there.
These organizations paid tribute to and honored the martyrs of the Philippine revolution in the past decades, notably Comrade Jose Maria Sison, the founding chairperson of the Party’s Central Committee. They also recognized the heroism of the New People’s Army (NPA) in launching the armed struggle amid the US-Marcos regime’s brutal terrorist attacks.
FFPS concluded that “as the CPP, the entire revolutionary movement and the Filipino people bravely continue and advance their revolution, we will continue to support their struggle.” Aside from the FFPS international leadership, branches and member organizations from North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania also sent greetings.
