Together with the Filipino people, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) expresses great outrage against the Zionist Israeli regime whose armed forces deployed tanks and troops to surround, shell and attack the al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza since yesterday.

The attacks against Gaza’s biggest hospital is an unspeakable war crime and adds to the long list of brazen crimes perpetrated by the Netanyahu government in the course of the bombardment of Gaza since October 7. These vicious attacks shows the US-supported Israeli Zionist regime’s contempt for international humanitarian law.

Before losing contact with hospital officials, the World Health Organization and the Médecins Sans Frontières reported that patients and medical staff are trapped in the hospital facilities under Israeli fire. Two premature babies have died in the neonatal care unit after losing electricity due to the attacks. At least 37 other premature infants in the unit are in danger.

We join peoples around the world in the crescendo of protests and ever-rising uproar against Israel’s genocide and apartheid policies against the Palestinian people. We join in amplifying the demand for the Netanyahu fascist regime to stop the attacks against civilians and heed the global clamor for a humanitarian truce to cease the genocide.

We join the Palestinian people who remain steadfast in their resistance to the Zionist Israel’s attacks against Gaza. They remain united in fighting with arms and all means possible to defend their lives and fight for freedom.
