PLDT supervisors fight for CBA. PLDT Inc Supervisors launched successive actions this January to demand a substantial collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for 2026-2028 between the Gabay ng Unyon sa Telekomunikasyon ng mga Superbisor sa PLDT (GUTS-PLDT) and PLDT Inc management. GUTS representatives and PLDT management started negotiations for the new CBA on November 28, 2025 but 16 negotiation sessions reached no meaningful agreement.

25-year illegal dismissal issue at Toyota. Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation Workers’ Association picketed the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) office in Intramuros, Manila on January 26. They demanded that the agency resolve the 25-year issue of illegal dismissal and the continuing denial of the right to collective bargaining. In 2001, Toyota illegally dismissed more than 230 union-member workers following the union’s demand for CBA negotiations and the workers’ strike.

NLRC Region 3’s slow action denounced. National Federation of Labor Unions-Kilusang Mayo Uno members picketed at the National Labor Relations Commission Region 3 in San Fernando, Pampanga on January 21. They condemned the agency for its past anti-worker decisions and for its snail-paced action on other cases filed by workers.

Demand for wage hike in Calabarzon. Southern Tagalog workers protested at the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV-A office in Calamba, Laguna on January 26. They pressed their demand for a nationwide family living wage increase. They condemned the agency for granting measly wage hikes in the past.
