KMU demands surfacing of Davao labor leader on his 4th month of enforced disappearance

,

Kilusang Mayo Uno-Southern Mindanao Region launched an action yesterday, August 10, to call for the surfacing of veteran labor organizer William Lariosa. He has been missing for four months. Bayan-SMR and Bayan Muna-SMR participated in the rally.

They held the Marcos Jr regime responsible for Lariosa’s disappearance. He is among at least 16 victims of enforced disappearance and extrajudicial detention under the Marcos regime. They declared the day as the Day of Action for Workers and People’s Rights (DAWPR).

The 4th IB abducted Lariosa in Quezon, Bukidnon on April 10. Human rights groups and the Lariosa family have already visited all the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) camps in Bukidnon, as well as in Davao. The military still denies holding Lariosa despite eyewitness accounts. Before his abduction, the AFP had long been harassing Larriosa.
