Zionist Israel bombed a school (al-Tabin in Daraj) serving as an evacuation center in Gaza City yesterday, August 10, killing 100 people and wounding dozens of others. The Gaza Government Media Office said three bombs were dropped on the said school. Among the dead were children and women who at that time had gathered for their morning prayers.

Reports said three 2,000-pound bombs were dropped on the school. The US provided these bombs to enable Israel to continue its genocide in Gaza. The US-Israel even justified the bombing and massacre by saying that the school was a “command center” and served as a “hideout” for Hamas forces. This is despite the fact that the US-Israel know that it served as an evacuation center in the city.

Journalists who were in the area reported that the Palestinians could not rescue those trapped in the burning buildings because the fascist Israeli soldiers cut off the water supply in the area.

The al-Tabin school is the fifth school bombed by US-Israel this August alone. On August 1, it bombed Dalal al-Maghrabi in Shujayea killing 15 and wounding 29; the Hamama and al-Huda in Sheik Rawan on August 3 where 17 were killed and 60 wounded; Nassr and Hasan Salamen in Nassr on August 4 where 30 were dead and 19 were injured and Abdul Fattah and az-Zahrasa Tuffah where 17 were dead and many were injured.

These bombings are heinous war crimes openly and brazenly carried out by Israel despite widespread and vehement condemnation by most of the world, all because the US and its fellow imperialist countries tirelessly support and fund the genocide.

As in the past, many countries and citizens have condemned this series of massacres in Gaza. This includes Qatar and Egypt, which are currently mediating talks to forge a ceasefire, in Gaza.
