The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) extends proletarian solidarity to the workers of Nexperia Philippines Incorporated who voted last week to go on strike to defend their rights and dignity. The workers of Nexperia deserve the unequivocal support of the broad masses of Filipino workers and other democratic sectors because of the justness of their struggle and their militance.

They are fighting for living wages, reinstatement of laid-off workers, job security and other urgent demands. Their situation reflects the conditions of millions of Filipino workers who daily endure low wages, inhumane working conditions, job insecurity, unjust layoffs, political repression and other forms of oppression.

We call on all workers to draw inspiration from the courage and determination of the workers of Nexperia. They, too, must build and strengthen their unions, study theory and history, and raise their class and social consciousness. Just like the workers of Nexperia, they too can stand up to their capitalist bosses.

The conditions and struggle of workers of Nexperia are inextricably linked to those of other workers, peasants, fisherfolk, semiproletariat, students, women, rank-and-file employees, small professionals, national minorities, and all other democratic sectors. All the oppressed sectors must, thus, extend support to the workers of Nexperia and join them as they stage their strike.

Like the rest of the broad masses of the Filipino people, the workers of Nexperia are subjected to increasingly intolerable conditions of crisis and widespread suffering caused by the anti-people policies of the puppet and fascist Marcos regime. Thus, they must rise together with the rest of the Filipino people in their common fight for their national and democratic demands.
